    ANNUAL REPTILE EXPO

    Sunday 28th February 2010
    GENERAL ENTRY FEE
    Adults $10
    Kids $5 under 12
    Familes $25 (2 Adults & 3 Kids)

    During the day Hot Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

    Reptiles for sale will be available at the show, providing you have the appropriate licenses you will be able to purchase or sell reptiles on the day. We have put in place our hygiene protocol, this is to be observed to protect entrants and sellers but that's a small inconvenience to contend with.

    EXHIBITS
    Entries will be open to all type of reptiles including elapids this year we will ask for one entry per species; for example if you have 3 bluetongues, this will be classified as a single entry and house in one enclosure, the judges will judge the best one of the 3.

    To be eligible you must be 17 years old or older on February 28th. You must be the licence holder of the animals being displayed and you must bring your licence books to prove it. You will also need to prove your age.

    Enclosure will be provided by MacHerps. When applying for the exhibit please indicate the size of your enclosure needed.

    - $15 for 3
    - $20 for 4 or more

    Every show application will get a raffle entry to the following prize vouchers by Snake Ranch:
    1st Price $500
    2nd Price $300
    3rd Price $200

    NOTE:You MUST be a member of a recognised herp society. This is a condition on your licence not a MacHerp condition.

    12.00pm - Live Show on main Exhibit Area to be carried out by Anthony Stimpson Australian Wildlife Displays

    SHOW PROTOCOLS
    1. All reptiles are to be brought to the show in a white cotton bag or pillowslip, safely fastened to prevent escape of the reptile.
    2. All reptiles will be inspected for mites or any obvious signs of disease before being allowed entry to the exhibition area.
    3. Exhibitors will not be able to handle reptiles other than their own.
    4. Reptiles will not be removed from the cage until the end of the show, unless authorised by an official or veterinarian, appointed by the show committee (e.g for pre-purchase inspection).
    5. Judges, officials, veterinarians or anyone handling animals should take care to keep their clothing and equipment clean, and disinfect hands between handling reptiles.
    6. Purchasers will not be able to handle reptiles other than their own.
    7. Any unauthorised person removing a reptile from a display cage will be asked to leave the show immediately.
    8. All cages are to be sprayed with Top of Descent® spray and disinfected with F10® prior to occupation.
    9. Newspaper or paper is to be used as a substrate. Other substrates are not acceptable.
    10. Hygiene stations providing F10® handwipes or spray will be available at strategic points (preshow inspection table, pre-purchase inspection room and throughout the exhibition area) so that handlers can disinfect their hands immediately after contact with a reptile.
    11. A veterinarian will be present or at least contactable by telephone during the course of the show.
    SELLLERS' ANIMALS
    1. All animals to be displayed in plastic "see-through" tubs.
    2. All tubs are to be treated with Top of Descent ® spray and F10® as described in the "Hygiene Protocol".
    3. For close inspection the reptile shall be taken to a designated examination room.
    4. A footbath containing a suitable disinfectant such as F10® or Virkon® shall be at the entrance to this room.
    5. Everyone entering or leaving the room shall use the footbath.
    6. A designated room for pre-purchase inspection will be available (see Appendix 1).
    7. An attendant will be present to ensure that the table in the room is disinfected after each inspection.
    8. Reptiles can only be removed from a container once inside the examination room.
    9. Only vendors (sellers) or the appointed veterinarian may handle the reptile.
    10. After handling a reptile the vendor must disinfect his/her hands prior to leaving the room.
    11. The reptile shall stay with vendor until the end of the show.
